Theory
The idea that the media can implant ideas in the mind of the audience directly
The idea that audiences acquire attitudes, emotional responses and new styles of conduct through modelling
The idea that media representations of transgressive behaviour, such as violence or physical aggression, can lead audience members to imitate those forms of behaviour
Key words i heard: Violence in video games is common publication bias (more likely to be shown that no link between violence and video games). Association between video games and behaviour is smaller
Main ideas explained: can link based off of rewards from the game when killing people in video games e.g. extra points or being congratulated via things that can be heard. All children everywhere are playing the same type of games so all people witness the same stuff yet very few actually do things from the game in person. People who play the game see it more as competition and a stress relief.
Interesting points; my thoughts: No link. Can be a short term feeling but never long term to majorly link to peoples actions.
Fandom is important as it helps build players opinions and their own stories and freedom for imagination. It also helps Assassins Creed company to be able to find out what fans want and acknowledge how popular they are based on the amount of fandom they have based on their products.
