I think that in episode 1 it kind of misses the first stage of an equilibrium. This is because it transitions from  the start of the bus journey and I think the main disruption is the dead people coming back. I think the disruption is the dead people returning and recognition is that they are really back. Maybe then there isn't a solution, maybe changing things like clothes and stuff or old things they used to own but the new equilibrium is getting used to and adjusting to them being back and trying to restore some normality.
